The best nurse has been nominated in an awarding ceremony organized by the Dialysis Center on the occasion of “World Day of Nurses”.

During one year, the patients of Chisinau Dialysis Center, over 300 persons, expressed  their opinion with regard to several segments of medical institution activity: treatment, medication, staff attitude, food and they also voted for “the best nurse”, whose name was announced during the professional performance awarding event.

Thus,  Ms. Tatiana Evsiucova, Maria Gherciu and Eugenia Puscaș were appointed as winners.

“We are glad that the patients appreciated our activity.  For a nurse the biggest delight is when the patient remains satisfied by  provided services”, pointed out one of the prize winners, Ms. Tatiana Evsiucova, who accumulated the biggest number of patients’ votes.

There are over 30 nurses working for Chisinau Dialysis Center, part of them were trained in European dialysis centers, therefore the Moldovan patients benefit from the highest level of medical staff attitude.

“If we imagine that the Dialysis Center is a human being, the nurse represents its  hands and heart.  Among the representatives of medical staff the nurse is the closest person to the patient; she helps and morally supports the patient in difficult clinical and psychological situations. Creation of a relationship of responsibility and understanding between the patient and nurse is extremely important for the success of the dialysis treatment”, mentioned the head nurse of Chisinau Dialysis Center, Ms.  Ala Ursachi.

The first survey of Chisinau Dialysis Center patients was performed a year ago.  It revealed that questioning of patients is an effective mechanism of adjusting medical services to the individual needs of patients.

“The anonymous survey included questions regarding the opinion of patients on eventual changes in the activity of the Dialysis Center. The questionnaire contained four compartments: health self-assessment, services (medical, non-medical and staff attitude) and suggestions about preferred medical staff (categories: doctors, nurses, registrars).  Depending on the results of questionnaires many patients’ proposals were  implemented during the year: the spectrum of medications was extended, the  patients’ Guide was developed, it explains in details the peculiarities of the dialysis process  and the specifics of diet of patient in dialysis; a new nourishment menu was introduced, the volume of services provided by the Dialysis Center psychologist was increased, etc.  The suggestions’ box proved to be an effective instrument to provide services to patients consistent with their expectations”, mentioned Mr. Peter Cepoida, medical director of Dialysis Center.

The event took place in Chisinau Dialysis Center, opened within the framework of Public Private Partnership project for dialysis services in the Republic of Moldova. The Center serves over 300 patients dependent on dialysis, which is more than half of the total number of people with kidney disease in the terminal stage of the whole country.  The patients benefit from high-quality dialysis services on the basis of medical insurance policy.
