Over 400 patients served, over 33 000 dialysis performed at the highest level of quality

The implementation of public-private partnership in dialysis allowed an obvious improvement of accessibility and quality of dialysis service offered to patients with chronic terminal insufficiency in Moldova.

Merely one year after its opening, the Chisinau Dialysis Centre managed to obtain the results that exceeded expectations: over 400 patients served and over 33000 dialysis sessions performed at the highest level of quality, the weekly number of Centre’s  beneficiary reaches 300 patients.

“In this context, I would like to mention that during the operation of our Centre, we got 145 new patients, which is 3 out of 4 patients who began treatment with haemodialysis in Moldova in 2016,” said Mr. Petru Cepoida, medical director of BB-Dializa SRL.

Patients, coming from abroad within the program “Vacation Dialysis”, launched in June 2016, mentioned that services provided by Chisinau Dialysis Centre are of the same or even better quality than those of the Dialysis Centres in their native country.

The capacity of the Centre is more than 300 patients but, in a short time, due to the equipping of the Centre with additional medical equipment, there will follow an increase of capacity of up to 440 patients, which places this dialysis unit among  the largest Dialysis Centres of Europe.

The new equipment of last generation, exhaustive technical equipment, qualitative consumables, all necessary medication, comfort at the highest level are complemented by professional approach of the medical staff.

The Centre has implemented an integrated information system that automates registration of medical processes offering the data on line.

The evaluation of clinical indicators demonstrated that a more effective dialysis and dietary advice led to the disappearance of pre-dialysis hyper-kalmia to one third of patients.  Complex anti-anaemic therapy conditioned the achievement of  haemoglobin target-values to 2/3 of dialysis patients, as compared with the indicator 1 to 14 patients,  registered at the time of transfer to BB-Dialysis Centre. Reduction of uremic intoxication and administration of erythropoietin have resulted in a significant improvement of  health of 2/3 of patients.

The Chisinau Dialysis Centre was launched on January 4, 2016, within the public-private partnership project for dialysis services in Moldova.  For the implementation of the project at national level and provision of high quality services to all dialysis patients with terminal renal insufficiency, the  German consortium, represented in Moldova by BB-dialysis company,  will have to invest 15 ml. Euro.
