On June 10, 2016, at the Centre for Dialysis in Chisinau, opened within public private partnership project for dialysis services in Moldova, the official launching of the “Vacation Dialysis” services was held.
To align the dialysis services in Moldova to high quality European standards, the public-private partnership project was initiated and in January 2016 the first dialysis centre within this partnership was opened. Access to treatment, equivalent to that of European dialysis centers, is also provided to foreigners coming to Moldova for a certain period of time. This has become possible with the launching of “Vacation Dialysis” services.
“Today we participate in an important event for the image of the Republic of Moldova in the world. Foreign patients using the services of the Centre of Excellence will speak about our country as of the one, where the dialysis services are of high-quality and at the European level. We are proud that thanks to joint efforts of the public and private partners, we have managed to align Moldova to countries with developed dialysis services. The private partner has justified the trust of public authorities and the actions they undertake confirm and strengthen this confidence”, mentioned Mr. Oleg Creciun, Deputy Minister of Health at the conference.
The private partner is a German consortium represented in Moldova by the project company BB-dialysis. According to the manager of the company Mr. Dmitri Onufreiciuc, due to “Vacation Dialysis” services has become possible to assess the quality of medical act, the equipment and utensils, the level of satisfaction of the patients of Dialysis Centre in Chisinau compared to other dialysis centers from abroad.
“The patients coming from abroad said that we are on the same level or even better than the dialysis centres abroad. Launching the Vacation Dialysis services offers us the opportunity to receive the indisputable appreciation of foreigners. We are extremely happy that we didn’t disappoint them, even more, we managed to impress the patients coming from other countries by the quality of services, the attitude of qualified medical staff, the comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Our Centre can be aligned to European dialysis centres. The appreciation of patients drives us to move forward and develop the project”, stated Mr. Dmitri Onufreiciuc manager of “BB-Dialysis”.
To benefit from “Vacation Dialysis” services, the patients must undertake several steps.
“If a person dependant on dialysis is planning to visit Moldova and wants to benefit from quality services, he has, at least two weeks before arrival, to file a request and to attach all necessary medical documentation in one of the following languages: Romanian / Russian / English/ French. Dossier in languages, other than those listed, should be translated and authorized by a notary. It is worthy to note that the Dialysis Centre in Chisinau was made alike similar dialysis units in Europe, therefore it is natural that the patient coming from abroad should not feel any differences or as they told us, this centre is even more powerful than those in their own country”, said Mr. Petru Cepoida, medical director of the Center for Dialysis.
Moldovans working abroad and planning to come home for a period of time can benefit from free dialysis services based on their insurance policy issued by Moldovan authorities.
The services of the psychologist of the Center are made available to the patients to facilitate their integration in the new conditions. The participants to the event had the opportunity to discuss with the patients coming from abroad.
“It is very good here. Dialysis is performed qualitatively, the conditions are much better than in our hospital, the staff is friendly. Unlike our dialysis department, there are separate changing rooms for women and men, we are provided food, each patient has a TV and headphones, etc. I have only good words”, mentioned the advantages of the Dialysis Centre in Chisinau Mr. Giuseppe Monteleone, a patient coming from Italy.
Since the beginning of 2016 the Dialysis Centre in Chisinau performed over 10 thousand dialysis sessions, over 250 patients were served. At present, the Dialysis Centre of Excellence is providing services to more than 230 patients, which represent more than half of all persons subject to dialysis in Moldova. The present capacity of the centre is more than 300 patients but there is possibility of expanding up to 440, which ranks it among the largest dialysis units in Europe. The quality of services is also in line with that of European centres for dialysis. The new equipment of last generation, absolute technical equipment, qualitative consumables, all necessary medication, superior level of comfort is complemented by the professional approach of medical staff.
The launching event of the “Vacation Dialysis” took place in Chisinau Dialysis Centre, opened on January 4, 2016, under public private partnership project for dialysis services in Moldova. To implement the project nationwide and for providing high-quality dialysis services to all patients with terminal-stage renal insufficiency, the German consortium, represented in Moldova by BB-dialysis company, will invest financial resources in the amount of 15 ml. Euro.
